Missing Credit Card Used To Buy 9,000 Gallons Of Gas
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police are investigating after someone got away with more than $30,000 worth of gasoline while using a Fayette County credit card.
In April 2012, an employee reported the card as missing or stolen, but County officials never cancelled it.
From that time until May 2013, a person or multiple people used the card to buy 9,000 gallons' worth of diesel fuel.
The purchase set back the Fayette County Department of Public Works $31,173.46.
No word on any suspects.
Police are continuing to investigate.
