Millvale Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Teen Girl He Met Online
SHALER (KDKA) – A Millvale man is facing several charges for allegedly engaging in a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl.
According to police, 33-year-old Daniel Kundrat started communicating with the girl online.
Initially, Kundrat told her he was 18 and sent nude photos of himself. He later told her he was 33.
During their online interactions, Kundrat also asked the girl for nude photos.
On Aug. 10, Kundrat picked the girl up at her home in Columbus, Ohio and took her back to his house in Millvale.
According to the criminal complaint, Kundrat had sex with the teen at his home several times. Kundrat allegedly recorded the two engaging in sexual acts on a cellphone he purchased for the girl.
Kundrat's neighbors said they saw the two together, but had no idea what was going on.
"I [saw] her sitting on the porch and she told me actually she was 19 years old and we were all kind of suspicious and it was kind of weird because there's no utilities there and I said you know, gonna get a job and move in with him and she said they met online and everything," Eric Dragun, a neighbor, said.
When the girl's mother reported her missing on Aug. 10, the FBI began tracking her online activity. Eventually, they traced the activity to an IP address at a McDonald's in Shaler.
At that point, the FBI began working with Shaler Police to monitor the restaurant.
On Thursday, a detective saw Kundrat and the girl at the restaurant and took him into custody.
Agents recognized Kundrat due to a previous child pornography case.
He is now facing a list of charges including statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and aggravated indecent assault.
