Multiple Homes Damaged In Millvale Fire
MILLVALE (KDKA) -- Emergency crews battled a fire that spread to multiple homes in Millvale early Sunday morning.
Crews were on the scene of a three-alarm fire affecting seven rowhouses on Sample Street at about 8 a.m. The fire initially started at 416 Sample Street and then spread to homes on either side of it. A total of seven units sustained fire, smoke and/or water damage. It was reported to be under control around 10:45 a.m.

The fire was initially reported around 7:47 a.m., according to the Millvale Volunteer Fire Department's Facebook page.
The fire grew to two alarms around 8 a.m. and a third alarm was requested around 8:20 a.m.
"We woke up to flames, we woke up to smoke and then when we opened the door all the firetrucks -- we asked if we should get out, we grabbed our animals and ran out the house," said victim Leigh Schaffer.
Neighbors said the flames moved quickly.
"I saw a pretty decent amount of fire coming out of the first floor, front door then it rapidly rose to the second and third floor," said neighbor Gary Davis.
One firefighter suffered burns on his arms. No other injuries were reported.
The Red Cross says they are assisting 13 adults and four children.
