Mike Ditka: Pitt Football Should Win Big East Every Year
Mike Ditka joined Seibel and Starkey on Sportsradio 93-7 The FAN to talk about Dave Wannstedt being removed as head football coach and speculate as to why it may have happened.
Ditka said he was surprised by the move because Wannstedt seemed like such a great fit for the program, but the bottom line is wins and Pitt just didn't have enough of them during his tenure. He believes Pitt should make a BCS Bowl game every year. He also added that it will be hard for the program to find a person that will put as much of their heart and soul into the program and have the passion for Pitt like Dave did.
When it comes to finding the next head coach of the Panthers, Ditka said it shouldn't be the most important thing that the candidate is a "Pitt guy."
The guys wrapped things up with Ditka by getting him to weigh in on all the helmet-to-helmet hits in the NFL and what can or should be done to protect the players without taking anything away from the physicality of the game.
