Men Charged In Harrison Twp. Death Called "Poor Caretakers" In Court
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Two men accused in connection with the beating death of a Harrison Township man with mental disabilities were held for trial during a preliminary hearing Friday.
Larry Duff, 56, and Jason Link, 22, face a long list of charges including homicide, assault and neglect of care for a dependent person.
The victim was Duff's older brother, Ronald. The 60-year-old had mental disabilities. He died last month in the home they all shared.
Ronald Duff had 30 injuries to his head and 20 to the trunk of his body. Four of his ribs were broken.
Authorities say Larry Duff and Jason Link admitted they alleged beat or punished Ronald because he would expose himself, urinate and defecate on himself and was difficult to handle.
Link lives in the house with Larry Duff's daughter who is pregnant with his baby.
Police say Duff initially told them his brother fell down the stairs.
Larry Duff's wife, Lisa, also faces several charges including simple assault, neglect and tampering with evidence.
