GIBSONIA (KDKA) -- The FBI and the DEA raided a Gibsonia medical clinic and the home of the clinic's founder Thursday morning.

Authorities were raiding the Medical Frontiers clinic in the Richland Mall around 6 a.m.

Services provided at Medical Frontiers range from pain management to laser therapy to spinal rehab, but the FBI and the DEA apparently think something else is going on there, which would explain the early morning raids at the clinic and the owner's home on Fox Run Road in Hampton.

Nearby business owners and workers say Dr. Andrzej Zielke had been in Richland Mall for about a year.

"His patients that would come, they just always looked like they were really stoned. So I'm sure that they were heavily medicated because it was a pain clinic," Donna Gray with the Allegheny Health Network said. When asked if she was surprised to see the FBI and DEA there, Gray said, "Yes and no."

Zielke's business is listed as a facility that uses a comprehensive and holistic approach to medicine by using non-invasive procedures.

Agents were seen removing boxes of evidence from both his home and his business.

Frank Lembo, of the Nu Age Fitness Center, is right next door.

"He stopped by on occasion," Lembo said. "Very nice fella."

But apparently something else was going on for a federal court judge to order search warrants for Zielke's business and home.

"Never talked about patients," Gray said. "The only thing he ever said was-- I asked him if they were broken into one day because the police out front, and he said, 'Oh, we just have to be careful because of the opioids' that he had there."

Investigators aren't saying if Zielke was home Thursday morning when his house was raided, if he's even in town or if he's been arrested.
