Meadows Breaks Ground On Expansion Project
NORTH STRABANE TWP. (KDKA) -- The Meadows Racetrack and Casino in Washington County is continuing to grow.
Officials broke ground today on the first phase of a $25 million expansion project that will include a new parking garage and multi-purpose room that can be used for concerts, meetings or wedding receptions.
"The Meadows Racetrack, The Meadows bowling center, The Meadows restaurants, the Meadows Casino, The Meadows concerts -- all the things that we provide -- part of that experience starts with accessibility to the property and with parking," explained Meadows' General Manager Sean Sullivan.
The five-story building, which will attach to the casino, will feature 1400 new parking spaces along with a 24,000-square foot multi-purpose center.
Sullivan told KDKA that visitors to the casino helped shape this new project.
"We try to talk to our guests," Sullivan added, "we find out what their needs are and we fulfill those. That high limit room, that clubhouse, this parking garage, and the multipurpose center room is all about speaking to our guests and finding out what they would like to see at the Meadows."
The brand new high limit room opened back on July 1st, but they are hoping at the racetrack now, there will be no limits when it comes to patrons' entertainment options.
