McKeesport Hit-And-Run Suspect Charged
MCKEESPORT (KDKA) -- A man wanted in connection to a fatal hit-and-run accident in McKeesport has turned himself in to police.
Seth Denne, 21, was interrogated by Allegheny County Police.
Police say the victim, 27-year-old Bruce Babyak of Versailles, was walking in the 600-block of Eden Park Boulevard around 2:40 a.m. Friday when he was struck by a maroon van and dragged about 100 feet.
According to the police report, Denne told investigators he had been drinking at a local bar before driving home. He struck what he thought was a deer.
When he got home, he said he saw heavy damage to the passenger front side and a sweatshirt was wedged in the area that had been damaged.
The accident was caught on video by a surveillance camera on a local business.
Denne was arrested and charged with homicide by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident involving personal injury and a traffic violation.
He is now at the Allegheny County Jail as he waits for arraignment.
