McKeesport Shooting Suspect Surrenders To Police
MCKEESPORT (KDKA) -- The man accused of pulling the trigger in a double shooting that claimed a woman's life in McKeesport last month has surrendered.
Allegheny County Police say 25-year-old Daniel Bizzelle Jr., who also goes by the nickname "Boog Bray," turned himself in to police on Wednesday evening. He was accompanied by his lawyer.
Attorney Blaine Jones said, "Mr. Bizzelle's family contacted me recently in order to facilitate his safely turning himself into authorities."
Jones said Bizzelle maintains his innocence.
Police issued an arrest warrant for Bizzelle late last month in connection with the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Samantha Klavora on July 16 along Fifth Avenue. She's was the ninth homicide so far this year in McKeesport.
Bizzelle is charged with homicide, attempted homicide, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and other firearms violations.
At the time, Klavora was standing next to a man who police said was the intended target. He was wounded in the incident. Investigators suspect the shooting was in retaliation for the fatal shooting of a McKeesport man in June.
Klavora was shot six times.
Her father, Greg, told KDKA-TV News after he heard about the arrest, "I just want to see Bizzelle get what he deserves."
He described the last couple of weeks since his daughter's murder as "painful."
Bizzelle was taken to the Allegheny County Jail to await arraignment.
