MCKEESPORT (KDKA) -- Allegheny County Police have made an arrest in a fatal shooting at an auto repair shop in McKeesport on Friday afternoon.
According to investigators, it may have all started as a fight over repairs to a vehicle.
Police were first called to the scene on 5th Avenue just before 3:15 p.m.
They cordoned off the parking lot of the J&M Automotive Services business, just across the way from the Dunkin Donuts. The view from NewsChopper 2 showed evidence markers all over on the ground.
According to Allegheny County Police, first responders found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the UPMC McKeesport ER where he died from his injuries.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office has identified him as 41-year-old John Benedek of Elizabeth. Police say he was the co-owner of the auto shop.
Following the shooting, police say 46-year-old Eben Brown of McKeesport showed up at the McKeesport Police Station to turn himself in. Investigators say he told them he shot Benedek.
Police say Brown allegedly confronted Benedek about some work done on his vehicle, and then shot him.
Brown is being charged with criminal homicide and is now being held in the Allegheny County Jail.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the Allegheny County Tipline at 1-833-ALL-TIPS (1-833-255-8477).
