McKees Rocks Shooting Victim Mourned At Candlelight Vigil

MCKEES ROCKS (KDKA) -- The young father who was shot and killed earlier this week in McKees Rocks was remembered at a candlelight vigil Saturday evening.

According to police,  25-year-old Robert "Louie" McGhee had dropped his daughters off at their mother's home in the Meyers Ridge Housing Complex when he was shot six times.

Saturday's vigil served several purposes. The most important was to celebrate McGhee's life, but it was also held to ask to stop the violence that took his life and to ask for information from anyone who could help solve the murder.

"She asked me if her daddy was going to have a cell phone in heaven so that he can call. What am I supposed to say to that? Whoever did this, we're going to find you," Veronica Kraus, the mother of McGhee's two kids, said.

His two children, ages four and six, were at the vigil.

"We were together for almost a year so it's very tough. I loved him," Chantel Primer, his girlfriend, said.

They released balloons in his honor, but those in attendance couldn't help being angry over the senseless violence that took his life.

They believe someone did see something that night and hope they will come forward to Allegheny County Police.

So far no arrests have been made.
