Matt Cooke Show: Right Move To Keep Bylsma
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - It's the final edition of the Matt Cooke Show, as the Pittsburgh Penguins winger joins Vinnie & Cook on Sportsradio 93-7 The Fan.
Cooke is still picking up the pieces from Pittsburgh's loss to Boston in the Eastern Conference Finals, and he knows where he thinks the blame should go.
"I think the responsibility falls on the players," Cooke admits. "People want to look at the coaches and the management, but at the end of the day the players are the ones who are going to have to go out there and do it."
Cooke also reacts to Wednesday's announcement that head coach Dan Bylsma will be receiving a two-year contract extension.
"I think it's a great move," he says. "Dan has been a great coach, and he's a great teacher of the game. If you were viewing it from the outside looking in, you would think they'd have made a mistake if they had fired him. He'd probably be hired within six hours of being fired."
Cooke also reveals whether he has faith in goalie Marc-Andre Fleury, and is asked about his future as a Penguin.
