Martin: "We Don't Have Any Quit In Us"
PITTSBURGH (KDKA 93-7 The Fan)- The Pirates have made a habit of coming from behind this season.
Russell Martin has had four walk-off hits, with the latest coming Thursday against the Miami Marlins.
"We've been doing it all year," Martin told Vinnie Richichi on Bucco Talk. "We've had a ton of come-from-behind wins, and the key is we just fight. We don't have any quit in us, we never really feel like we're out of a game."
Martin did not start Thursday, but told Richichi that there is no such thing as a day off for him.
"I'm always paying attention; I'm always trying to figure out what they're doing," Martin said.
Martin added that his biggest job is to take care of the pitching staff, and acts as a sounding board when he's not in the lineup.
