Giant Eagle Market District Chef Ben D'Amico stopped by PTL to show off some delicious Halloween milkshake recipes!
Leftover Halloween Candy Milkshake Base Recipe
Compliments of Market District Chef Benjamin D'Amico
Makes: Varies (1-4 depending on cup size used) Prep Time: 5 min
Ingredients:
- 2 cups Ice Cream (Any flavor, Vanilla works best)
- ¼ cup Greek Yogurt (optional)
- ¼ cup Milk (Whole)
- ½ cup Assorted Halloween Candy, chopped up
Directions:
1. Add all ingredients into a blender.
2. Blend for 15-20 seconds until smooth.
3. Adjust thickness/thinness by adding in an additional small amount of ice cream or milk.
4. Pour into glass and garnish as desired.
Note: The quality of ice cream (premium vs. value) used as well as the fat content in the milk (skim vs. whole) that you choose will change the consistency of the ice cream.
Fun Halloween Milkshake Variations:
These recipes just swap out assorted candy for a distinct flavor and look. Create your own, try switching out ice cream flavors, candy types, and garnishes using leftover or extra Halloween treats. (Stale candy also works well in milkshakes!)
"Eye Love Coconut"
Start with the "Leftover Halloween Candy Milkshake" Recipe and then add the below in place of the ½ cup assorted Halloween candy in recipe above.
Ingredients:
- 2 mini Almond Joy™ or Mounds™ Candy Bars
- 2 mini KitKat™ Bars
- 2 mini Malted Milk Balls or Whoppers™
- 2 tbsp Toasted Coconut
- Garnish Eyeball Gumballs
- Garnish Red Gel Icing
1. Blend all ingredients except toasted coconut and garnishes.
2. Drizzle clear cup with red gel icing in zig-zag pattern.
3. Top with toasted coconut and eyeball gumball.
"Salty Chocolate Covered Carmel Pretzel"
Start with the "Leftover Halloween Candy Milkshake" Recipe and then add the below in place of the ½ cup assorted Halloween candy in recipe above.
Ingredients:
- 2 mini Snickers™ Candy Bars
- 2 mini Milky Way™ Candy Bars
- 2 mini Twix™ Candy Bar
- 1 Mini Bag Halloween Pretzels
- 1 each Pretzel Rod
- Garnish Caramel Sauce in squeeze bottle
- Garnish Cotton Candy or Carmel Corn
1. Blend all ingredients except pretzel rod and garnishes.
2. Drizzle clear cup with caramel sauce in zig-zag pattern.
3. Garnish with pretzel rod wrapped with cotton candy.
"Monster Mash-Up Milkshake"
Start with the "Leftover Halloween Candy Milkshake" Recipe and then add the below in place of the ½ cup assorted Halloween candy in recipe above.
Ingredients:
- 2 mini Reeses™ Peanut Butter Cups
- 2 mini bags M&M's™ (Peanut, Peanut Butter, or Chocolate)
- 2 mini bags Reeses Pieces™
- 2 drops Green Food Coloring
- 3 each Oreo™ cookies, crushed
- Garnish Chocolate Sauce in squeeze bottle
- Garnish Gummy Worms or other Halloween Themed Gummies
1. Blend all ingredients except Oreos™ and garnishes.
2. Drizzle clear cup with chocolate sauce in zig-zag pattern.
3. Top with crushed Oreo™ and gummy worms.
