Marcus Gilbert Calls Browns Team To Beat In AFC North

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Many experts would agree that the Cleveland Browns are trending in the right direction for the first time since they last had a winning record in 2007, but not many are ready to call them the team to beat in the AFC North.

However, Steelers starting right tackle Marcus Gilbert is ready to make that leap. In an interview with Joe Starkey of "Starkey and Mueller" on The FAN, Gilbert said there are a number of reasons he believes why the Browns will be the team to beat this year.

"The team to beat, I would have to say the Cleveland Browns. They're stacked," Gilbert said. "Just looking at a defensive standpoint, they're pretty deep and brought in some key additions. It starts with them, the first game of the year, and I think we're going to have our hands full, but it will be a good match for us."

When asked if he's picking the Browns because of all the hype surrounding Johnny Manziel, Gilbert said "I'm not even just saying about Johnny Football. All the key additions they brought in, the coaching staff, they're pretty familiar with us."

The Steelers will get their first shot at the Browns week one as they open the season at home with their division rival.
