CAPA Teacher Arrested In Shadyside Bank Robbery
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Her name is Philicia Barbieri. Until recently, she was a chemistry teach as CAPA High School.

Today, along with 28-year-old Alvin Carter III, Barbieri is charged with robbing the Fifth-Third Bank at Highland and Centre Avenues in East Liberty -- a poorly planned heist in which police say Barbieri waited outside while Carter approached a female teller.
"Handed the teller a note saying he had a gun and would shoot her. [Told her] to put $2,000 in a bag without a dye pack," said Lt. Kevin Kraus of the Pittsburgh Police.
Outside, police say Carter handed the money to Barbieri and the two began walking to their apartment on nearby Marchand Street where police were waiting for them.
"Actually, one of the tellers knew them to be former customers of the bank and were able to supply a detailed description as well as some other information and police from Zone 5 were able to arrest them on their way home," Kraus said.
Carter is a fugitive from Atlanta, Ga., and Barbieri is currently suspended from her job at the school district pending a termination hearing. The district says she is suspected in the theft of 15 laptop computers from CAPA on March 28. She was escorted off school grounds when she came to work the following day.
"There is an ongoing investigation which she is the subject of regarding the theft of numerous laptops from the high school," Kraus said.
