Police Arrest 20-Year-Old Man Wanted For Assault, Vandalism And Looting During Downtown Riot

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police have arrested a young man wanted for assault, vandalism and looting during the downtown Pittsburgh riot on May 30.

On Thursday, the Pittsburgh police said 20-year-old Jordan Erdos was arrested.

He is charged with aggravated assault, riot, recklessly endangering another person and disorderly conduct.

He is accused of assaulting KDKA photojournalist Ian Smith.

Smith was shooting video of a burning police vehicle across from PPG Paints Arena when he says a group of protesters swarmed him, beat him and destroyed his camera.

According to the criminal complaint, Erdos admitted to agents that he kicked Smith, who has recovered and is back at work.

The complaint also says Erdos admitted to throwing water bottles at police and breaking a storefront window.
