Man To Stand Trial For Allegedly Fleeing Police During Undercover Drug Operation
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A man who led police on a chase in Pittsburgh's West End during a drug sting last month will stand trial.
Drew Bey waived his charges to court this morning.
On Nov. 20, investigators say undercover officers tried to buy 10 bricks of heroin from Bey.
They set up the sting near Steuben Street, but Bey got spooked and took off in his car.
He hit a wall, several cars, including at least one undercover police vehicle, and then allegedly drove directly at police officers while trying to flee.
Another officer shot at Bey, but he got away.
Police eventually caught up with him in a creek near Saw Mill Run Boulevard.
