Man Shot, Injured During Sheraden Robbery

SHERADEN (KDKA) - Police are looking into an early Wednesday morning shooting in the Sheraden neighborhood of Pittsburgh.

According to police, the incident happened around 1:40 a.m. Police say the 27-year-old victim told the suspects that he didn't have much on him and that's when the confrontation turned physical.

"Two black males approached him and demanded that he hand over his belongings," said Public Safety spokeswoman Sonya Toler.  "He said he didn't have much and refused to do that. They in turn removed his hoodie, took two cell phones off of him, shoved him and shot him twice."

The suspects ran towards Chartiers Avenue.  The injured man was able to get to a neighboring home to call 911.

He was taken to Allegheny General Hospital and was last listed in good condition.

Police say the victim was also armed.

"He did tell that to the dispatchers and apparently, there was nothing illegal about the gun he had," added Toler.
