Man Sentenced To 2 Life Terms In Forest Co. Stabbings Case
TIONESTA, Pa. (KDKA/AP) - A western Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to two life terms in prison without possibility of parole in the stabbing deaths of his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend at a hunting camp last spring.
Thirty-eight-year-old Scott Black of Butler pleaded guilty Feb. 12 in Forest County to second-degree murder in the April 27 deaths of 42-year-old Marcelle Edwards of Tionesta and 43-year-old Donald Shay of Leechburg in a mobile home just outside Tionesta.
Police say they found the body of 43-year-old Donald Shay of Leechburg outside of a mobile home and the body of a 42-year-old Marcelle Edwards inside the home. Both had been stabbed multiple times.
At the time of the murders, police said Edwards and Shay had been involved in an ongoing dispute with Edwards' ex-boyfriend, Scott Black.
According to a Pittsburgh Tribune-Review report, Black was transferred to the state prison in Pittsburgh to await permanent assignment to a facility.
County sheriff Robert Wolfgang said Black apologized to the families of the victims, saying "he wished he could take it back but he knew that he couldn't."
