Man Killed, Woman Wounded In North Side Shooting
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- One man was killed and a woman was wounded in a shooting Friday night in an apartment in Pittsburgh's Spring Hill neighborhood on the North Side.
The shooting happened in the 2100-block of Rhine Street at the Three Rivers Manor housing project.
Lt. Michael Piasecki said three men knocked on the door of the apartment, demanded money, and then they barged inside and started shooting.
Piasecki said the woman was shot in the head and arm. She was hospitalized in critical condition.
Terry James, 38, was killed.
"It seems as though three gentlemen came to the door," Piasecki said. "When they answered the door, they kind of forced their way in, demanded money and unfortunately shot the gentleman and shot the woman too."
No description of the gunmen was released late Friday.
One neighbor said James was a long-time resident of the housing project.
Lt. Piasecki said police found drug paraphernalia inside the apartment when they went inside.
