Man Hospitalized After Crashing Into 5 Parked Cars

NORTH FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP (KDKA) - A man was flown to the hospital after police say he drove into five vehicles and flipped his own car Wednesday morning.

Police believe the man was driving under the influence around 3:30 a.m. in North Franklin Township, Washington County.

Roger Miller, 59, was pinned in his car after the crash. He was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital after police say he crashed into several parked cars along Park Avenue.

"He was trapped and the firefighters had to cut him out," North Franklin Township Police Sgt Jerry Cavanaugh said. "He really didn't say much. He was crying out in agony because he was injured."

Gaylord Rea woke up to what sounded like thunder, but the boom he heard was his van being smashed. It was hit so hard that it was sent rolling down into a neighbor's yard and nearly hit the house.

"It scared me because like I said, my kids' rooms are in the front here beside the living room and it just scared me," Tabitha Boardley said.

"He went right through there. You can see where the mark is and if he would have kept on going through there without hitting my car, it might have been in her front room there," Rea said.

Police suspect Miller was driving under the influence when he crashed. Fortunately, there were no other injuries.

Police said blood test results could take 30 days to get back. If it's determined that Miller was intoxicated, he'll be charged accordingly.
