Man Facing More Charges For Exposing Himself At New Castle McDonald's
NEW CASTLE (KDKA) – A man already facing open lewdness charges was arrested on similar charges for allegedly exposing himself to an 11-year-old girl inside a Lawrence County McDonald's last year.
According to police, the incident happened at the restaurant on Wilmington Avenue in New Castle last summer.
The suspect in the case has been identified as Preston Sager, 47, of Lawrence County. He was arrested on Aug. 30, in connection with another case.
Surveillance video from June 2013 shows the suspect coming into the restaurant at about the same time as a mother and daughter.
He orders a drink and sits near them, setting up his laptop computer on the table. Police say he then went into the men's room, removed his shorts and returned wearing no pants at all.
"He placed himself, seating in the dining area, where the mother's back was to him, but the child could view him, and then was exposing himself repeatedly," said Lt. John Rand, of Neshannock Police.
The very upset child finally told her mother.
"Once he got up to leave, that's when the child told her mother what was going on," said Lt. Rand.
But by the time police arrived, they say Sager had taken of in a maroon Chevy.
"We learned recently in August he was arrested in Beaver," said Lt. Rand.
Previously, Sager was wanted on open lewdness, resisting arrest and indecent exposure charges stemming from an incident at a Beaver County library.
Police say their investigation started with a phone call from a library employee in Beaver County, who reportedly saw Sager exposing himself in the library.
"He had about 30 videos of our library," Officer Jeff Wijnen-Riems, of the Beaver Police Department, said earlier this month. "He would stick a camera underneath the desk that he was sitting at, across from somebody and videotape their private parts, their stomach, their legs, women with skirts on. Some of the pictures were young girls, you could tell by the clothing."
Detectives say once confronted, Sager admitted to lewd behavior.
"He said, 'I have a problem.' He said, 'I had no clothes on, I was trying to get her attention," Officer Wijnen-Riems said. "I said, "You are going to be arrested for that." He said, "Okay, do what you need to do.'"
While in custody, police determined Sager was also the suspect in the McDonald's incident. He was picked out of a lineup on Sept. 5, by two separate witnesses.
Sager is facing a list of charges including, corruption of minors, indecent exposure and open lewdness.
