Man Dead In Overnight Turnpike Crash
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- One man is dead following an overnight accident along the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Plum Boro.
The crash happened just after 1:20 a.m. near milepost 49.
According to state police, the pickup truck was head eastbound when it traveled off the road and hit the median.
Investigators say the driver hit his head on the barrier when he was thrown from the truck through the passenger-side window. He then landed in the bed of the truck, hit the tailgate and then fell to the road.
The pickup truck eventually stopped next to the median wall.
Officials have not released the man's name.
There's also no word on what caused the accident.
