Man Attacks Police With WWII Bayonet
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Two state troopers say a man tried to attack them with a WWII bayonet.
The troopers were responding to a home in Hempfield Township, when they say Edward Gorinski came after them with a weapon.
They had to use a Taser to finally subdue him.
The troopers were not hurt.
"We were fortunate none of our troopers were injured," said State Police Tpr. Steve Limani. "It was very nice that we had that information prior to going into the residence that there was a possibility that he had some type of sharp instrument on him that alerted the troopers and they were able to take extra precaution when they were entering that residence."
Gorinski is facing several charges including aggravated assault.
