Man attacks and strangles man inside of Aliquippa Veterans of Foreign Wars building
ALIQUIPPA (KDKA) - Police were made aware of an assault inside a building in Aliquippa this past weekend.
On Sunday night, inside the Veterans of Foreign Wars building on Penn Avenue, a fight broke out.
The suspect was identified as Brett Ours. Ours allegedly attacked and strangled a man, later identified as Preston Coleman, in what was described as an unprovoked attack.
"What if someone should happen to see this man? Do not approach him. It seems like the damage that was done to the victim, in this case, this individual could snap," said Nate Bible, Beaver County District Attorney. "He is a violent individual, and in viewing this tape, it is very clear that he is a violent individual."
According to police, the surveillance video shows Ours standing up and punching Coleman in the face repeatedly. When Coleman tries to escape, Ours ups the attack and begins kicking him in the head.
Police said surveillance video shows at least three bystanders watching but not entering the fight.
Coleman was "blood-soaked and frail," police added.
The fight went on for about half an hour until Coleman lost consciousness. Coleman was flown to the hospital with no updates yet about his status.
"I do believe that they knew each other. The Aliquippa police were familiar with both of these individuals, but from what they told me, the victim was almost unrecognizable," Bible said.
Police ask that if you have any information to call them.
