Man Assaults 3 Officers After Car Chase Ends In Crash
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A man is accused of leading police on a high-speed chase and assaulting several officers in Sewickley Saturday night.
The chase took place around 11:30 p.m. when state police started following 23-year-old Gregory Omlor.
They say his gold Toyota Corolla was weaving in and out of traffic on Interstate 279.
Police chased Omlor at speeds of 80 to 100 miles per hour, until he crashed into a concrete barrier along Ohio River Boulevard.
Omlor was charged with aggravated assault when he went after a police officer at the scene.
He then said, "end it for me, just shoot me," according to the criminal complaint.
Shortly after, Omlor was taken to Allegheny General Hospital for treatment and a blood alcohol test. Police say he became aggressive again and tried to kick officers saying, "what will it take for you to shoot me?"
He is also charged with resisting arrest, DUI, Fleeing and Eluding, as well as numerous traffic violations.
Omlor is currently in the Allegheny County Jail.
