Man Arrested After Marijuana Plants Are Found Growing On Church Property
PINE TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- State police in Mercer County say a Grove City man is facing drug-related charges after suspected marijuana plants were found growing on the property of a church.
Authorities say 28-year-old Jason Como of Grove City was arrested and arraigned Saturday for manufacturing and cultivating a controlled substance and for drug paraphernalia.
According to investigators, officials at the Beloved Disciples Church in Pine Township contacted state police Saturday afternoon after finding the two plants on the church's property near Macrae Drive.
State police say they found a small path there that "led from the suspected marijuana plants to the backyard" of the home where they found Como.
State police report that Como was taken into custody after he "confessed to growing the plants."
His bail was set at $7,500 unsecured bond.
