Man Arrested After Being Rescued From South Side FBI Property
SOUTH SIDE (KDKA) - A man had to be rescued from inside the FBI building property on the South Side early Monday morning.
According to police, the man was walking home along the railroad tracks near the FBI building on East Carson Street around 2 a.m.
No trespassing signs are posted in that area, but the man ignored them.
"This individual first ignored those signs climbed up the hill and then got himself into a very sticky situation," Pittsburgh Police Spokesperson Sonya Toler said.
The suspect has been identified as Conner Houk, 26, of Brookline.
Someone working at the GetGo across the street heard Houk yelling for help and a police officer quickly arrived on the scene.
Officers found Houk clinging to a fence near a 30-foot drop to the railroad tracks. As a result, the officer used his handcuffs to secure Houk's belt to the fence.
"They were concerned about the man losing his grip. So, they secured him to the fence with handcuffs - not on his hands, but his belt," Toler said.
Eventually, paramedics cut the fence in order to bring him to safety.
Houk was taken away from the scene in handcuffs and will face a list of charges including, criminal mischief, defiant trespass and public drunkenness.
