Man Accused In YMCA Sexual Assault Going To Trial
BUTLER (KDKA) – The man accused of sexually assaulting a boy at the Butler YMCA will go on to trial.
He waived his right to a preliminary hearing Monday.
Police already have a confession and the knife Jason Taylor allegedly used in the sexual assault of a 12-year-old boy at the YMCA earlier this summer.
Taylor waived his hearing and was held over for trial, but the attempted rape charged was dropped.
The 35-year-old is now charged with aggravated assault, corruption of a minor and attempted aggravated indecent assault.
Taylor admitted he grabbed the boy from behind, put a knife to his face, then took him into the bathroom. Police say Taylor told the victim not to scream as he took him into a stall and locked the door.
He allegedly then began kissing and fondling the child while trying to remove his clothing.
When someone came into the bathroom, the boy started screaming for help.
Taylor was then detained by two men until police arrived.
The men and 12-year-old victim are expected to testify in the trial.
