Mall At Robinson Packed For Black Friday Shopping

ROBINSON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- Eager shoppers didn't waste time getting out of the gate at the Mall at Robinson.

Bright and early, they started - some trying to crawl as the gates into the mall were lifted, others sprinting through the halls in hopes of grabbing door busters before they were gone.

"It's my first time Black Friday shopping, I wanted to see what it would be like," said Kaylee Fisher, of Coraopolis.

The deals this Black Friday came in waves, and so did the shoppers.

"It's actually not that bad today," McKenna Pasic, of McDonald, said. "I thought it would have been hard to walk around, but it's not as bad as I thought it was going to be. It's a pretty easy crowd."

The large crowds were not a deterrent for those in search of a bargain.

"Since I was getting things for other people, it's easier to get it cheaper for them, and for myself, too," said Mikayla Day, of Pittsburgh.

In Center Court, wary shoppers grabbed a nap and others kicked up their feet.

"I was coming from New York, and I thought it would be nice if we all wore same shirt, so I bought the same shirt and then we found the socks to match," said shopper Rene Palmer.

All one man was in search of was some coffee.

"I just put Starbucks into my GPS, and it brought me to this mall. I'm from out of town," said Jeff, of Maryland.

Shoppers got the royal treatment - complimentary massages, gift wrapping and even a ride to their cars.

"Just bags on top of bags," said Paul Ketter, a PediCab driver. "It kind of looked like the 'Beverly Hillbillies' almost with all the presents and the people in here."

It's a perfect service for those who bought more than they could carry.

"We had our coats and we started to get hot and we had all these bags, and we were like, 'Let's just get one of those and pile the bags up because we're not done yet,'" said Mikah Grubb, of Ohio.

And for many shoppers this is just the beginning of the holiday season.

KDKA's Trina Orlando: "Will you have everything done?"

Jo Scarfone, of Carnegie: "No, no, no, no, no."
