Malkin has been completely shut down since crashing into the boards against Florida.
That hit led to him being placed on injured reserve with concussion-like symptoms.
Malkin's injury happened in the third period of the Penguins' 3-1 win over the Panthers last Friday night. He was tangled up with Florida defenseman, Erik Gudbranson before sliding back-first into the end boards.
Malkin stayed down on the ice for a brief period of time before skating off under his own power. He did not return to the game.
