Mailman Attacked By Pit Bull In Brighton Heights
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A Pit Bull attacked and bit a mailman along his route Tuesday.
It happened in the 3500-block of Fleming Avenue in Brighton Heights.
The mailman was walking toward a house when the dog came out of a gated area and bit him on the calf.
He suffered a puncture wound, which also has some swelling and bruising. He was treated at the scene.
Coincidentally, this happened during national dog bite prevention week.
Officials say nearly 6,000 mail carriers across the country were bitten last year and that homeowners are responsible for restraining their dogs.
