Lost "Godfather" Prequel Becomes New Book
PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) -- Mario Puzzo, the author of "The Godfather" series, had more stories about the Corleone Family that were never told.
One of those stories, a previously unknown transcript that was recently found in his notes, is a sequel to "The Godfather" series that tells the tale of Vito Corleone's rise to power.
Now, Ed Falco - a writer and scholar who studied "The Godfather" story - has finished the transcript and published it as a new book, "The Family Corleone."
KDKA AM's Larry Richert and John Shumway talk to Falco about what the book is about, why he wrote it and how hard it was to fill in the blanks for Mario Puzzo. It was an offer he couldn't refuse.
