Local Truck Driver's Windshield Smashed By Bottle Of Lotion
McKEES ROCKS (KDKA) -- Jack Smith was driving his 18-wheeler on the McKees Rocks Bridge late Wednesday when his windshield was shattered after being struck by a plastic bottle of Vaseline hand lotion.
At the time, Smith was transporting a load of steel from Ambridge to McKees Rocks.
Smith, of Ross Township, told KDKA-TV Wednesday night that at the time there wasn't much traffic on the bridge and it was staring to snow.
"About halfway across the bridge, there was a school bus going in the opposite direction toward Route 65; and suddenly, someone threw a bottle of Vaseline out of the [bus] window, smashing the windshield directly in front of me," Smith said.
No one was hurt in the incident.
But since his wipers were on because of the snow, the lotion was smeared all over Smith's windshield, so he said he couldn't see anything.
Smith said, "Thank God I'm all right, it could have come out bad, but it didn't."
Smith believes his truck was targeted by someone on the bus, but he doesn't know why.
