Local Man Accused Of Hiding Drug Paraphernalia In Toddler's Clothing
WASHINGTON COUNTY (KDKA) -- A Washington County man is facing charges for hiding drug paraphernalia in his young daughter's clothing.
John Hyatt, 30, of Fredericktown was supposed to turn himself in this morning, but never showed up.
He is out on bond awaiting trial on robbery charges in connection with an April holdup at the Fredericktown Beer shop.
In that case, he admitted to using a knife to demand cash from a clerk.
Police say Hyatt's wife called to report the needles in a bathroom area and also under his 3-year-old daughter's clothing.
It's not clear what substance was in the needles, but police say any drug could have had devastating consequences if the child had been pricked.
Hyatt is facing child endangerment, reckless endangerment and drug charges.
He is currently serving in a military reserve unit out of Washington, Pa. and participated in a training session as recently as this weekend.
East Bethlehem Police are in contact with Hyatt and expect to make an arrest soon.
