Local Democrats Rally In Response To Ryan Visit
MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) -- Local Democrats tried to counter-punch Congressman Paul Ryan, even before he even arrived Saturday morning.
At a news conference, Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald argued that Republican proposals would hurt middle class families.
"Having Paul Ryan in town helps illustrate who the real candidate is at the top of the ticket," Fitzgerald said in a press release. "As we've learned over the past few weeks, Mitt Romney will say anything to close the deal. After campaigning for President the past six years as 'severely conservative,' he's now playing hide-and-seek with voters."
And he seized on a word President Obama coined to describe presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
"Now with a just a few weeks before the election, as the president said yesterday, he has a case of what we call Romnesia," Fitzgerald said.
Also in attendance was Mayor of Braddock John Fetterman and Labor Council President Jack Shea.
