Local Boy Chosen To Dance On Stage With Justin Bieber

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- He's one of the hottest acts in music, but Justin Bieber is still willing to share the stage.

He's giving young people the chance to be part of his concerts.

When Bieber's tour stopped in Pittsburgh Wednesday night, a local boy got the chance to dance with him on stage.

For his song "Children," Bieber brings up to four kids on stage with him in every city.

Hours before the concert, 11-year-old Rueben Brock II rushed back from a dance completion in the Poconos to be at CONSOL Energy Center.

Dancing since he was 3-years-old, Brock found out Bieber was holding YouTube auditions for backup dancers just before the deadline in March.

"When I found out about it, I had to send in the video the next morning," said Brock.

He had less than 24 hours to watch choreographer Nick Demora's video of the needed dance steps.

"It was not exactly easy, but it was fun to learn," said Brock.

On the second take, he nailed it.

Then, that was it. Four months passed with no response. Suddenly, last week came word he'd be dancing with Bieber at CONSOL Energy Center.

"I'm very, very nervous, but I'm also very, very excited," said Brock ahead of the concert.

Brock, who is going into the seventh grade, has been practicing the routine a couple of times a day.

Brock's mom, Courtney, his stepmom and his Synergy Performing Arts Academy friends were his cheering section for the show.

"I am trying to play it cool right now, but I am through the moon, I am so excited," said Dara Brock. "It will be amazing to watch."

For Brock, being one of the "Purpose Tour" kids means being on stage with someone he admires for his dance steps and his music.

"I have been a fan of him since first grade," said Brock of Bieber.

His mom is also a "Bieleber." And as for his dad, he's coming around to the pop star.

"I'm all-of-a-sudden a true fan, you give my son a shot, you're okay in my book," said Rueben Brock.

Their son is looking at this as a big opportunity.

"I want to be a professional dancer, and if that doesn't work, I want to own a studio and be a professional chorographer," said Brock.

He will turn 12 next month.
