Lincoln-Lemington Shooting Prompts 2 Police Chases
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – At least one person was arrested after a shooting incident prompted two separate police chases Saturday afternoon.
According to police, the shooting happened on Chaucer Street just off of Lincoln Avenue around 3:28 p.m.
Two men were sitting in a car when another male fired multiple shots into the vehicle. The passenger was hit multiple times and got out of the vehicle near the intersection of Lincoln and Apple Avenues.
The shooting victim was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital with wounds that were not believed to be life-threatening. The victim was last listed in stable condition.
The suspect fled the scene and led police on a brief chase before being taken into custody. Police have only identified the suspect as a 17-year-old African-American male, who was charged as an adult.
Later, Zone 5 officers spotted a vehicle matching the description of the one the victim was in. Officers tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused to stop and led police on a brief chase through Penn Hills and Wilkinsburg.
The driver crashed into another vehicle near Graham Boulevard. Several people suffered minor injuries in the crash.
