Letang Has "Symptoms"
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Penguins coach Dan Bylsma said Thursday that defenseman Kris Letang is suffering symptoms from a hit delivered by Dallas forward Eric Nystrom.
"Kris Letang did have some symptoms today and is going to get reevaluated back in Pittsburgh when we get back after this road trip," Bylsma said, according to the team's official website.
Not five minutes into the first period Wednesday night, Letang came around the back of the net to play a loose puck. He reached for the puck and Nystrom appeared to make contact with Letang's chin, sending him to the ice and out of the game.
The NHL has since announced Nystrom will not have a hearing regarding the hit, which means no suspension will be issued. He could still be issued a fine.
Letang suffered a concussion earlier in the year when he was blindsided by Montreal's Max Pacioretty Nov. 26. He missed 21 games because of the concussion.
