Leftwich Injured, Batch May Start Against Browns
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The quarterback situation for the Pittsburgh Steelers may have become even more bleak Monday afternoon.
According to KDKA-TV's Bob Pompeani, backup quarterback Byron Leftwich suffered rib and shoulder injuries in the Steelers' 13-10 loss to the Baltimore Ravens Sunday night.
At this time, it is unclear if the injuries will keep him out of Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns.
If Leftwich cannot play, it would seem likely that Charlie Batch would get the start.
Leftwich appeared to injure himself on a 31-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, but he remained in the game.
Last week, it was determined that Ben Roethlisberger has suffered a rare rib injury in addition to a shoulder injury. A timetable for Roethlisberger to return has not been determined.
