Injuries Reported In Lawrenceville Crash Involving Port Authority Bus

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Four people were hospitalized after a multi-vehicle crash Tuesday morning involving a Port Authority bus.

The crash happened around 7:45 a.m. at Butler Street, near the 62nd Street Bridge, in Lawrenceville.

According to a Port Authority spokesperson, the 91 Butler Street bus was headed outbound when it crashed. Three other vehicles were involved.

A Port Authority spokesman confirmed the bus driver and two passengers were taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, a third passenger was taken to St. Margaret's for treatment.

"Four people were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries," said Pittsburgh Public Safety spokesman Chris Togneri.

The front end of the bus was damaged, on the right side, near the entry door.

The crash caused delays on the bridge and on Butler Street.'

"There were partial lane closures and it's affecting traffic. There are traffic back-ups in all directions," said Tongneri.

Pittsburgh Police and Port Authority Police are investigating.
