Lawrence County Standoff Ends After 6 Hours
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A man was taken to the hospital for evaluations after a standoff early Saturday morning.
It started around 1 a.m. on Fields Drive in Shenango Township.
A man had threatened to hurt himself and shot off a gun, which prompted his family to call 9-1-1.
The standoff ended more than six hours later after police negotiations, around 7:30 a.m.
"It was a very long night for officers," Darrin Cwynar with the Shenango Police Department.
No one was injured, but the suspect was taken to a mental facility for a psychiatric evaluation.
