Larry Foote Says Steelers Need To Bring Win Home From London
PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Steelers linebacker Larry Foote joins The Fan's Andrew Fillipponi once again for his weekly show at Monte Cello's.
Last week was a must-win game for the Steelers and this game against the Vikings in London is even more so. It doesn't matter if the game is ugly, a win is a win.
All sorts of criticisms are coming at the Steelers after the Sunday night loss to the Chicago Bears.
The veterans on the Steelers defense are not bothered by talk of age since they can point to finishing first overall on defense last year as evidence that they are still strong. When asked about Troy Polamalu, Larry says, "Troy looks like the old Troy."
Putting last week in the rear-view and looking at this week's match-up, Larry says Vikings' running back Adrian Peterson is in a class by himself in the NFL right now.
Larry reminisces about tough backs he has had to go up against. Larry respects fullbacks who stand up and avoid low chops to the legs.
"You should always see what you're hitting" when you are playing football, according to Larry.
New York is a great place, so Larry is expecting it to work for the Super Bowl this year.
"The NFL is a business and a business is about money," so Larry thinks a franchise could get placed in London. Larry is not much of an international traveler so he would not be in favor of that strategy.
Regardless of where it is played, Larry thinks that "all football should be played on grass" even in domes. Indoor games are tough on the knees.
