Coronavirus In Pittsburgh: 75 Percent Drop In Ridership For Port Authority
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Port Authority is reporting a large decrease in ridership since the coronavirus outbreak began.
On weekdays, at least 75 percent fewer people have been riding the bus or T service.
On Tuesday, just 32,000 people took a ride, an 84 percent drop from the average ridership in March last year.
The Port Authority says it is also spending a lot more money on things like gloves and hand sanitizer.
