Kunitz, Downie Suspended For Game 4
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Penguins and Tampa Bay Lightning will be forced to make roster changes for Game 4 Wednesday night.
According to TSN's Bob McKenzie, both Chris Kunitz and Steve Downie have been suspended for one game for hits they dolled out in Game 3.
In the first period, Downie left his feet to hit Ben Lovejoy behind the Penguins' net.
Lovejoy was hit after making a pass that eventually led to Max Talbot scoring the game's first goal. A penalty was going to be called on the play, but Talbot's goal negated it.
Later in the first period, Kunitz delivered an elbow to the head of Simon Gagne in front of the Penguins' net.
Kunitz was assessed a two-minute minor for elbowing, but Tampa Bay was unable to cash in on the power play.
The puck will drop for Game 4 Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
