Korbe Home Going Up For Sheriff's Sale

INDIANA TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- It's the final chapter in a sad and tragic tale.

The home owned by Robert and Christina Korbe is going up for sheriff's sale.

The home is a four bedroom, two-and-a-half bath colonial. It's assessed at $315,000, but you might be able to get it for a steal.

"It's going to be nice to see somebody that's actually in there," said Kevin Giel, a neighbor. "Maybe get a nice family in there."

The home's been vacant for five years; ever since that fateful morning in 2008 when it was raided the FBI agent Sam Hicks was shot and killed.

Neighbors privately refer to the place as "the killers' home." And at least one neighbor worries about the house sitting idle.

"We've seen a couple times in the past, there's been people hanging around," said Giel. "Anybody that looks out of the ordinary or a little bit suspicious, we'll always go ahead and notify the police."

Now JPMorgan Chase is putting it up for a sheriff's sale. The bank's trying to recover about $280,000.

And you have to wonder, would anyone want to own the place considering its history? A top realtor in the North Hills says yes.

Kevin Mihm, of Coldwell Banker says people at sheriff's sales are looking for a bargain.

"It's a sad story, there's no question about it," said Mihm. "But the people that look for sheriff's sales - look for sheriff's sales for one reason and one reason alone. It's the dollar sign."
