Konias Back In Pittsburgh, To Appear In Federal Court
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Sources close to the Ken Konias armored heist investigation say the suspected killer is back in Pittsburgh.
Konias, 22, is scheduled to appear in federal court downtown Thursday afternoon. A judge will read the charges against Konias and set a date for a formal preliminary hearing.
Konias is accused in the February 28th shooting death of his partner, Michael Haines, and the theft of $2.3 million from the armored truck.
Investigators captured Konias in Pompano Beach, Fla., on April 24th.
The attorney for Konias' parents, Charles LoPresti, tells KDKA Konias has asked him to be his defense attorney.
He says he will not make a decision on whether to represent him until he can sit down with him in person and discuss the facts of the case.
