Kevin Orie On Wandy: 'Why Not Leave Him Out There?'
PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) - The Pirates lost a heart-breaking 14-inning game Monday night in Cincinnati. The Fan Morning Show spoke to former MLB'er, and Pirates Pre/Post Game host Kevin Orie to recap.
Clint Hurdle's decision to pull Wandy Rodriguez in the sixth inning was a curious one. It was also one that Kevin disagreed with.
He thought that Wandy had earned the right to keep battling after throwing, to that point, a very good game.
There was also some fireworks after Jared Hughes plunked Brandon Phillips, causing a stir between some of the Reds players and Hughes.
A.J. Burnett was also involved coming out of the dugout to chirp the opposition.
Phillips took to his Twitter account to insinuate that a racial slur was directed towards him. Orie, a former teammate of Phillips', says he doesn't believe that took place, and isn't surprised Phillips would say that because he has always had a "God-complex."
