Kevin Colbert Talks All Things Steelers, Burress
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) -- Steelers Director of Football Operations, Kevin Colbert, joined the Fan Morning Show for an exclusive interview on Monday morning.
Colbert said that while the Steelers tried to work out a two-year deal with Wide Receiver Plaxico Burres, it just didn't work out with the Steelers' current salary cap number. Nonetheless, Colbert says he's happy for "Plax" to be back in the NFL.
The offensive line is a point of concern for many Steelers fans. Colbert said that the Steelers could possibly make a move to bring a lineman in, or even re-sign the recently released Max Starks to a lesser contract. "Over the course of training camp there's going to be a lot of interchanging players," Colbert said, "not only here but throughout the league."
Colbert recently locked up cornerback Ike Taylor to a four-year contract. "Ike is a big part of what we did," Kevin said about the Steelers run to the Super Bowl last season. "Fortunately for us, and fortunately for Ike, he will be able to finish his career here."
